Three-Act Musical.
A fast-paced, technicolor murder-mystery-comedy musical set in the 1950’s. . . with modern sensibilities.
Jo and Spence are getting engaged, so naturally they’d invite Spence’s business partner, his wife and mistress, Jo’s best friend who is not-so-secretly in love with her, a wise-cracking showgirl, and Spence’s heartbroken and sloppily drunk assistant in what becomes the worst party of their lives. And then there’s a murder.

Widowed and struck by what she believes is a stark warning from God, Anne, a small southern plantation owner decides upon a radical path to recreate Eden, freeing all she enslaved, and determining to live a completely pacifistic existence. Alone save the newly freed Camille, who was enslaved and bound to her since childhood, the two women must try to till the soil on their own and somehow make it through the season. The Civil War crashing around them, the two women must reconcile the personal trauma of slavery and forge a new path together, guided by a belief that God’s hand is touching their farm and their mission. Slowly small miracles occur, boldening Anne and Camille to feel more sure that God has blessed their strange endeavor, until God's test appears in a form neither expects.
